Traveling taught me just how diverse love is and what it encompasses

Love is diverse

Intodays society there is so much focus on romantic love that it might even be suggested that you have no love at all in your life if you don't have.a partner. But is that really so?

I fully disagree. What about for example:

  • the love for family and friends,
  • the love for nature,
  • the love for traveling,
  • the love for good food, and very importantly
  • the love for ourselves?

And what about the love for life?

For me, this is where the yoga principle 'open heart' holds true: the more we open our heart the more it can receive. The more we live in the present moment and the more aware we are of all the things we are grateful for, the happier and more fulfilled we are.

To me, this awareness and gratitude are what reflect the love of life. And the love for life ist something wonderful and very powerful.

Do-at-home practice

If you want to integrate this more into your everyday life, there is a very simple exercise: simply write down 3 things per day you are grateful for and why. You will notice how your perspective will automatically and easily shift towards all the beautiful things in life.

Love is unlimited

Love knows no borders or limits. Have you ever heard that someone can have too much love?

Me neither.

It is not as with time or energy where we only have a certain amount at our disposal and have to consciously choose where we want to invest it. If we spend more time and energy with topic A then we will automatically have less time and energy for topic B. Here we actually have an either-or situation.

But love – that we can do as much and as freely as we like. And we can love many things at the same time: traveling and being home, fried chips and steamed vegetables, the ocean and the mountains, power sports and relaxing yoga, solitude and togetherness.

Do-at-home practice

If you want to open your hear more there is a simple exercise: place a yoga block or bolster or even a pillow on the floor. Then lie down on it at about the height of your lower shoulder blades so that your heart space is elevated. Can you feel how your heart is opening?
