Konkret hei\u00dft das, dass es wahnsinnig viel geregnet hat. Das war sehr ungew\u00f6hnlich f\u00fcr die Jahreszeit, aber so ist das mit der Natur: sie ist unberechenbar! (Und ist es vielleicht auch das, was sie auch so unglaublich sch\u00f6n macht?) Ni modo („was soll’s?“) – im Tortuguero Nationalpark habe ich mir den Bikini und mein Neopren Oberteil angezogen und bin im str\u00f6menden Regen den Karibikstrand entlang spaziert und habe statt der Kaimane, die aufgrund des hohen Wasserpegels nicht zu sehen waren, Riesenameisen entdeckt (die waren 2 cm gro\u00df!), die nur bei Regen zum Vorschein kommen. Der Sage nach haben die Spanier das Land so benannt, weil sie glaubten, dass es dort viel Gold g\u00e4be. Dem war allerdings nicht so – es gab nur sehr wenig. Aus meiner Sicht ist der Name aber trotzdem absolut zutreffend, denn Costa Rica h\u00e4lt sehr viele und so viel bedeutendere Sch\u00e4tze bereit als Gold: und das sind prim\u00e4r die Menschen. Die Costa Ricaner, auch Ticos genannt, haben ganz klare Werte: Familie, Natur und Pura Vida.<\/p>\n Die Sonnenunterg\u00e4nge sind in Costa Rica unter anderem deswegen so magisch, weil die Str\u00e4nde unber\u00fchrt von Menschenhand sind – und es auch bleiben werden. Es gibt sehr strikte Vorgaben, dass Str\u00e4nde nicht bebaut werden d\u00fcrfen und auch sonst stehen Umweltschutz und Nachhaltigkeit in Costa Rica sehr hoch im Kurs. Etwa 1\/4 des Landes sind gesch\u00fctzte Gebiete oder Nationalparks. Und zweifellos – es ist beeindruckend, wie vielf\u00e4ltig dieses jetzt nicht ganz riesige Land ist: dichter Dschungel umrahmt von der Pazifik- und Karibikk\u00fcste und durchzogen mit Vulkanen, Seen und Wasserf\u00e4llen. Ich habe hier meine allererste „wilde“ Viper gesehen und h\u00e4tte mit Sicherheit neben den Affen, Iguanas, Nasenb\u00e4ren, zahllosen V\u00f6geln, Schmetterlingen, Faultieren, Riesenameisen, Skorpionen, Gl\u00fchw\u00fcrmchen und Spinnen noch sehr viel mehr von der riesigen Artenvielfalt gesehen, wenn das Wetter anders gewesen w\u00e4re.<\/p>\n So war folgendes Gespr\u00e4ch auch nicht verwunderlich. Ich war zu Besuch bei Tobi und Ben, und als Ben aus der Unterkunft kam, verk\u00fcndete er: „wir haben jetzt eine GroKo!“ (nach dem monatelangen Ringen darum, dass sich eine Regierung bildet, hatten wir in Deutschland dann eine gro\u00dfe Koalition). Aber ich pers\u00f6nlich fand den Dschungel in Kolumbien beeindruckender und obwohl ich den perfekt symmetrischen Vulkan nicht gesehen habe, gab es in den Anden in Chile und Patagonien ganze Ketten von perfekt symmetrischen Vulkanen, die auch noch in den verschiedensten Farben gl\u00fchten.<\/p>\n Costa Rica hat daf\u00fcr andere Dinge, die ich sonst nirgends gefunden habe und ist zweifelsohne ein unglaubliches Land, was mich nachhaltig beeindruckt hat. Die Ticos leben in Frieden – mit sich selbst, der Natur und auch mit der Welt (Costa Rica hat keine Armee). Sie hei\u00dfen die Menschen stattdessen lieber willkommen. Und das sp\u00fcrt man.
